It was all smiles and laughter at St. Michael’s Church last night as children (and even some playfully spirited adults) from Twerton and beyond gathered for the annual Light Party. Armed with an impressive array of sweets and a healthy dose of enthusiasm, our little party animals engaged in a whirlwind of fun-fueled games, all with the aim of becoming one of the four victorious teams.

From the hilariously messy dreadful-donut-dangling challenge to the ghostly-flour-feasts, there was no limit to what our young partygoers were willing to do for some good-natured competition. Surprisingly, we witnessed some truly unique concoctions in the process (Wotsits and shaving cream, anyone?).

However, the undisputed highlight of the evening was a spectacle that had everyone simultaneously cringing and cheering – none other than Richard the Rector’s dramatic head-to-toe gunging in a concoction so revolting it drew a collective “Ergh” and “Cheers!” from the crowd.

After the energetic games concluded, the volume was dialed down to a more civilised level, thanks in no small part to the arrival of plates piled high with hotdogs (and of course, more chocolate). As the evening wore on, the party ended on a high note with glow sticks and dancing, making it (obviously) the best party in Twerton that night.

This fantastic gathering brought together many happy and friendly faces from our community, reinforcing the importance of these joyous occasions. We look forward to seeing you all again at our upcoming community events, whether that means joining us for Wild Church every other Sunday at 2:30 pm at St. Michael’s School or our exciting Christmas Events, the details of which will be released soon!

A special congratulations to the victorious Red team, who emerged as the champions of the evening’s festivities. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated team and volunteers who meticulously organised and supported this memorable event. Let’s not forget to give a big shout-out to Luke, whose comedic skills as our MC added an extra layer of fun to the party. Lastly, a sincere thank you to Chris for his tireless work and meticulous planning. We can’t wait to do it all over again next year!
