Happy New Year Marlbrook!

Dear Marlbrook Family,

We hope you have had time to pause and take stock over the last week and as we enter this new year I have been encouraged by a passage shared by another church leader in 1 Chronicles  12. As many warriors from the various tribes join David to form an army, verse 32 mentions how  men from Issachar came to David:

‘men who understood the times and knew what Israel should do’.

1 Chronicles  12

As we begin 2024, we want to encourage you to be asking God for the gift of wisdom to both understand the times we are in and know what we should do in response.

As such, we would like to invite you to join us for two church meetings over the next two weeks to hear some important updates and pray together for God’s wisdom.

The meetings will be in two parts and geared toward each church individually but if you can’t make your church’s dates then feel free to attend the other church dates instead. Please note these meetings are NOT the APCM (annual meeting) so there won’t be any voting or formality (i.e. no need to send apologies), but they will be a significant opportunity for us to come together as churches to consider important matters.

January Updates

In many ways this week will be fairly quiet with the majority of our regular outreach activities resuming next week. However, we resume our gathered prayer meetings:

Sunday Services this weekend (January week 1):

  • 9am Reflective service at Ascension
  • 10.30am Celebration & Communion at St Michaels

It’s the first Sunday of the month and so the Firm Foundations course is back at 6pm in the Lighthouse Centre.

With our prayers for you all,

Love
Richard & Catherine
